Pêle-Mêle findet dieses Jahr wieder statt, diesmal jedoch nicht im Gohliser Schlösschen in Leipzig, sondern im Mediencampus Villa Ida, vis-à-vis (Menckestrasse).

Hätte ich nur besser aufgepaßt - I did not pay attention

Während ich mit diesen Dingen hier beschäftigt bin,
During I'm busy with these things here,

kursieren "draussen " soooooooooo viele Nullen in Zahlen. Hätte ich nur besser aufgepaßt, als mein Sohn in der fünften Klasse all diese Milliarden und mehr- Zahlen lernen mußte!
a lot of zeros circulate "outside". I did not pay attention as my son had to learn all these billions and more at school!

Ich habe mir vorgestellt, einmal all meine kleinen Stoffstücke auf meinen Quilts zu zählen, oder die Fadenstiche, die ich beim Quilten verbrauche. Kommen da solche Summen zustande ???? Könnte meine Bernina fragen, wie oft ich sie geölt habe, da sie mir netterweise immer sagt, wann 30.000 Stiche getätigt sind und sie von mir öliges Futter verlangt. Irgendwie reizt dieses Thema zur künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung. Aber das wäre wieder ab vom Weg, aber immerhin aktuell. Ist es zukünftig wichtig genug, um dem ein Kunstwerk zu widmen?

I imagine to count all my small fabric scraps on my quilts, or the machine-quilting stitches. Could these amounts be realized? I could ask my Bernina, how much I oiled it. It counts all 30.000 stitches and then wants new oil. Anyway, this subject of financial crisis attracts, charms to be arranged in an artistic way. But it would be a turn away , surely actual. Is it important enough for future, to donate this subject an artistic work?

Kontinuität ist schwer durchzuhalten durch die vielen Reisen. Ich habe den Faden nicht verloren, ob er rot ist, weiss ich nicht...

Garder la continuité est difficile si on voyage. Je n'ai pas perdu le fil, s'il est rouge,... je ne sais pas...

Continuity is difficult to keep if travelling. I did not loose the thread, if it is read,... who knows...

Oktober : Back to work

Nach zwei Ausstellungen und vielen Kursen in Frankreich: "back to work" im Atelier. Après deux expositions et plusieures cours en France: "back to work" dans mon atelier. After two exhibitions and a lot of workshops in France: Back to work in my studio.

Besuch aus Russland Russian visitors

Atelierbesuch aus Rußland. Die Quilterinnen kommen aus unterschiedlichen Städten Rußlands und sind anläßlich einer gemeinsamen Ausstellung in Leipzig. Bei dem Besuch konnte ich viel über die Quilts und Quilterinnen aus Rußland erfahren und es war ein sehr netter Vormittag.

Studio visitors from Russia. The quilters came from several towns in Russia. They are working in a cooperation project with german quilters and a common show, which starts here at Leipzig. I learned a lot of the russian quilts and quilters. It was a pleasure to meet each other.
