Material Obsession - Advent 5. Dezember

Meine Schichtentechnik macht auch vor Flohmarktfunden nicht halt... my love to work with layers 

Manchmal werde ich gefragt, woran ich gerade arbeite.

Das ist äußerst schwierig. 

Wann beginnt ein Werk?

Bei der Idee? 

Bei der Materialauswahl oder der Entscheidung für eine gewisse Technik?

In der Anwendung eben jenes Materials?

In der Sammlung?

Oder im Alltag, der so oft gar nichts mit Kunst zu tun hat, uns aber häufig so viel Inspiration bietet?

Also, mein Vorschlag für den 5. Dezember :

Schaut mal, was der Tag heute so an "Material" gebracht hat. 

Was hat der 5. Dezember heute Besonderes?

An Inspiration?

An Material?

Aufmalen, Sammeln, Zeichnen, Fotografieren... 

also Irgendwie dokumentieren!!!

Und noch nicht darüber nachdenken, was ihr daraus machen werdet... einfach nur sammeln.

Der richtige Zeitpunkt zur Verarbeitung wird schon noch kommen.

Kunst entsteht, wenn sie reif ist ...

Some times I was asked about my current work.

Very hard to answer!

When, do you think, starts a work?

By the idea?

Material choices?

Application of the chosen materials?

Collection?

Or in the daily life - that very often doesn't have anything to do with art but brings us a lot of inspirational material?Take this day and collect what it brought.

Inspiration?

Or a special material found?

Just draw, paint, collect. Make photos, sketches,anyway...

Just collect.

Don't think about the work it will be

Wait for serendipity

Irgendwann hat es einmal angefangen, mit meinen Adventskalendern im Stoffart-Blog. Jedes Jahr frage ich mich aus Neue, ob ich in diesem blog die Idee wiederholen soll. Ich erinnere mich, daß Bilder zu suchen, Fragen zu stellen und ein paar textile Ideen zum Weiterarbeiten zu entwickeln auch mir ein tägliches besinnlich-künstlerisches Ritual bescherten. Das hatte ich nicht erwartet. Also :

So also auch dieses Jahr.

Und weil heute schon der dritte Dezember ist, 

auch drei Fotos zur Inspiration zum Auftakt.

Eine kleine Hommage an meine Frankophilie.

Nebst den Inspirationen findet ihr in den nächsten Tagen dann auch ein paar Ideen zum Selbermachen, Impressionen aus meinem Atelier und den ein oder anderen textilen oder künstlerischen Gedanken...

Every Year I ask myself if I would love to post again the advent calendar. I started it some years ago and I remember it as a nice opportunity to reflect the days artistically. By inspiration, some ideas for textile work and by asking some textile related questions... 

 Of course,  it gave me the opportunity to have a daily ritual and a repeating time to develop small thoughts and feed my artistic soul as well.

So that I will post it again this year.
